Stratton Edwards serves as Counsel at International Policy Solutions. Prior to joining IPS, Mr. Edwards worked for Congressman Tom Cole (R-OK) where he specialized in appropriations. He also has done extensive work on energy, natural resources and tribal policy. Working in this capacity, Mr. Edwards was successful in securing increased funding and placing policy provisions in a number of different appropriations bills. Mr. Edwards work on tribal issues was substantial, managing the operations of the House Native American Caucus and working directly with the BIA and the Secretary of Interior on a number of issues facing tribes.
Prior to joining Cole’s staff, Mr. Edwards spent time at the Department of Interior, Marathon Oil, and Congressman John Sullivan (R-OK). Mr. Edwards’s appropriation work spans the firms full policy practice areas. In addition to appropriations, Edwards focuses on energy and water policy. In addition to his policy work, Mr. Edwards serves as in-house counsel providing ethics advice for the firm’s clients as well as minor general law issues inside the firm.
Mr. Edwards holds an A.B. and a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis as well as a M.A. in Political Management from George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Science. An Oklahoma native, Mr. Edwards now lives in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife and daughter.
